Everyday denture care
Caring for your dentures.
Daily cleaning and regular fit checks help you care for your denture and the tissues beneath it. Follow instructions specific to your denture, liner, and attachments.
Handle and clean gently
Remove loose food and clean all surfaces using the products and brush your dental team recommends. Work over a folded towel or water-filled basin to reduce damage if you drop the denture.
Avoid hot water and abrasive cleaning products. Follow product directions and ask before using a cleanser on a soft liner, metal components, or implant attachments.
Care for your mouth too
Clean your gums, tongue, and any remaining natural teeth. Ask your dentist about overnight removal and storage; instructions can differ immediately after extractions or for particular restorations.
Do not adjust it yourself
Persistent movement, sore areas, a crack, or a broken tooth should be assessed. Do not file the base, bend clasps, or use household glue.
Keep dental visits on the calendar
Even without natural teeth, oral tissue examinations and denture checks remain important. The team can recommend an interval for your needs.
