Understanding cosmetic dentistry.
Cosmetic dental care focuses on the appearance of your smile, but healthy teeth and gums come first. An examination helps identify suitable choices.
Color concerns
Whitening can change natural tooth color in appropriate cases. It does not change every type of discoloration or whiten existing crowns and fillings in the same way. Ask about sensitivity and realistic expectations.
Shape, chips, and surface changes
Bonding adds tooth-colored material. Veneers cover selected front surfaces and may require preparation of natural tooth. Neither is suitable for every tooth, and both need maintenance.
Alignment
Braces and removable aligners are different orthodontic approaches. Your bite, oral health, and the movement needed determine which options deserve consideration.
Plan before choosing
Discuss the sequence, limitations, alternatives, fees, and care needs. We have not carried forward unconfirmed claims about injectable cosmetic services from the older article.
