Oral hygiene.
Daily cleaning supports healthy teeth and gums. Ask the team to show you techniques and tools that work for your mouth.
Brush gently and thoroughly
Brush twice a day for two minutes with fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristled brush. Clean outer, inner, and chewing surfaces with gentle pressure, including along the gumline. Replace a worn brush.
Clean between teeth
Use floss or another suitable interdental tool daily. Curve floss around each tooth instead of snapping it into the gum. Bridges, braces, and implant restorations may need special tools; ask for a demonstration.
Bleeding or sensitivity deserves attention
Tell your dentist about persistent bleeding, swelling, pain, or sensitivity. These symptoms have several possible causes and should not be dismissed or treated only by brushing harder.
Professional care still matters
Home care cannot remove all hardened deposits. Your dentist recommends cleaning and examination intervals based on your health and risk factors.
